The Estée Edit | #BeautyAttitudes

Hi beauties!

As you may know I’m an Influenster member and I recently received my third VoxBox! For those of you unfamiliar with Influenster it is a website/app you sign up for and can leave reviews and ask questions about products of all sorts. In return you receive Vox Boxes which are boxes of full sized products for FREE for review purposes. I kid you not I don’t even pay for shipping or anything! In order to receive a box you must first pick categories of interest (such as beauty, food, etc.) and then take surveys to see if you qualify for certain boxes. After receiving the box you have to perform tasks regarding reviews. I’ve received boxes from St. Ives and Bite Beauty so far but this one was by far the best. When I got the email saying I was a fit for the Estée Edit collection I was ecstatic! Here are the four products I received:

I can honestly say my first impression of this box is 5/5. The packaging is stunning and the products are even better. The Estée Edit is a newly launched brand by Estée Lauder. This line has a separate target market than usual as it is aimed at the younger generation. Usually I shy away from Estée Lauder (with the exception of my Double Wear foundation) because 1) its expensive and 2) the brand seems as though it’s for mature skin if that makes any sense. I typically am attracted to brands such as Too Faced or ColourPop that clearly target the young, “hip” generation. I think the Estée Edit line can definitely compete. With Kendall Jenner as the brand rep…anything is possible!

The Flash Illuminator is a liquid highlight with a golden-champagne like sheen. My favorite way to apply this is to add it into my foundation for a nice glowy finish. How gorgeous is this highlight? Yes please!

The Beam Team Hydrate and Glow has two products in one. When you open the cap you’ll find a cream highlight. The texture is like a balm. I’m still feeling it out but I really like this for what is in the tube. In the squeeze tube is a light moisturizer-like cream with a hint of glow. I put it on as a moisturizer for natural glowy skin.

The pore vanishing stick is growing on me. It is very intriguing but I had to get a feel for it at first. I’ve only used it a couple of times so I can’t really review it yet but so far it isn’t life changing. If you have tips on how to apply send them my way!

Now the lipstick is as it sounds, very bare. The color is a warm brown-nude. It is very sheer with a shine. It feels very creamy when switching but I haven’t had the chance to wear it yet. I’m in Greece for three weeks and I tried to stick to the essentials and I didn’t get the chance to use it before I left. It does seem very wearable for every day use.

So yes, I received all of these products from Influenster for review purposes and I’m so thankful. Have you guys tried any of these? If so let me know what you think! Also if you have any questions about joining Influenster feel free to leave a comment. I definitely recommend it especially for bloggers!

Monthly Favorites | February 2016

Hi everyone!

March is among us but we can’t forget the best of February. I tried some new products out last month and I think I gained enough for a favorites post finally! Without further adieu here are my February Favorites!

img_4922

My go-to look for the month was and still is a simple, fresh face. So of course, I’ve been using BB creams all month! My two favorites are the Rimmel Wake Me Up BB Cream in the shade light the Pur-lisse BB Cream which I received from ipsy in my October Glam Bag. The Rimmel is probably my favorite of the two because it makes my skin look so fresh and glowy. Not to mention that it’s like $6!

My other favorite face product for the month was the Fresh Rose Face Mask from Sephora. No… I did not pay $62 I actually received this as a gift from Sephora for my birthday back in December! I just finally dug it up out of my drawer and have been using it almost daily! This stuff is great but I can’t justify purchasing it when I run out #CollegeBudgetProbs.

Sticking with make-up I have two more products I used literally every day of February. They’re both MAC lip products. The first is MAC Stripdown. No surprise here folks. MAC Stripdown is one of the most hyped up lipliners I’ve ever witnessed, and now I know why. It pairs so well with so many nude shades!

Which brings me to the next product, MAC Honeylove. For those of you who don’t know, this is a nude matte lipstick and it is everything. I forgot how much I appreciate nude lipsticks. While I do love those dark vampy lip colors, nothing beats a perfect nude.

The last few products are not makeup products but are beauty related. The first is the new St. Ives Nourish & Soothe Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion. This lotion was sent to me for free from Influenster for review purposes and I’m in love. The winter months are deathly to my dry skin. This lotion has been so good to me. It smells amazing and just locks in the moisture. This is something I’ll definitely be repurchasing when needed!

This next product is something I’ve used probably about 6 years ago and loved so I was curious to see if they have the same effect today. They’re the Crest 3D White Strips. I used these back in the day and I swear my teeth stayed white for years. I finally just started noticing some yellowing and I was really starting to become self-concious over it. I bought these white strips and I am feeling much more confident after using  these. Yes, I know it’s bad to use them for long periods of time which is why I’ve waited so long and while I am experiencing some sensitivity it is very minor and so worth it!

My last product favorite is this candle for Bath & Body Works. I love their candles and they always have great sales! This candle has quickly become a favorite and it is the Stress Relief candle. This is so soothing and fresh smelling. It actually relaxes me and I don’t think I can do my homework without it at this point.

My last favorite of February was not a product but an app. Influenster is something I’ve been thinking about doing for so long and I finally joined. I thought it would be a while before I got chosen for their free Vox Boxes but I’ve already received two!! The first being St. Ives, and the second I’ll be doing a whole post on! The app is really awesome for people starting up a blog or a Youtube Channel looking for ways to review products in an affordable way, and what’s more affordable than free?!

Well everyone, those are my February favorites. I hope you enjoyed! Let’s see what March has to offer!

March Goals | 2016

Hi February, Bye February! Am I right?

We’re already in month 3 of 2016! I can’t believe it. You guys know the drill by now. At the beginning of every month I like to set some goals. These goals help me keep track of myself, and help me work towards my yearly goals or resolutions, which most people have thrown out the window at this point. With that being said, Welcome March!

My first goal this month is to reorganize myself. I know this seems broad but I literally mean to just get reorganized. We’re right at midterms and things start to get so stressful and I start letting myself go. I forget to write things in my planner, procrastinate, etc. This is not the type of student I am so this month I plan to step back and get myself together.

Next, I want to continue last month’s goal of saving money. I did really well last month of starting to work more and therefore saving more. I plan to continue this throughout March. With Spring Break coming up I’m a bit nervous but hopefully picking up a few extra shifts will allow for more spending!

Recently, I became a member on Influenster. For those of you who don’t know, this is a website that sends you free products in return for reviews. I have already received to VoxBoxes of free products and I want to start incorporating these in my blog! I love reviewing products but feel like I always buy the same things. On a college student budget there’s not a lot of room to buy things just to review. Influenster is great for this reason!

Finally, this month I want to watch less Netflix and more TED Talks. Now I must admit, I did just binge watch all 13 episodes of Fuller House, but that was last month so it doesn’t count, right? TED Talks are so great and although I’ve been watching them since my freshman year (I’m now a Junior) I really want to watch more. These are educational, eye-opening, empowering and entertaining. I’m by no means giving up Netflix, I just get so much more out of watching TED Talks and a lot less guilt!

These are the main things I want to accomplish in the month of March! I’m super excited for this month and of course Spring Break! For all my fellow college students good luck on midterms! We got this :).

Until next time,

xo Rickie
