I think I’ll go to Boston | Weekend Trip

Hey everyone!

So this past weekend my boyfriend and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary and we decided to spend the weekend in Boston. Before this I’d only been to Boston for sporting events so I was kind of excited to just be a tourist for once! We did so much in just two days so I though I’d share some memories with you all!

First of all, I absolutely love the holidays so when I found out this weekend is when they light up the big tree at Fanuel Hall I was nothing less than ecstatic. I know Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened yet but I can’t help myself. I basically took a picture of every Christmas tree I saw.

If you ever go to Boston, its a must to visit Quincy Market. There are so many shops and of course lots of food!  We ate at a restaurant by the name of Dicks Last Resort. It was absolutely hilarious and traumatizing at the same time. The servers are pretty much mean to you for entertainment. Also they give everyone silly hats to wear in which they write something funny for everyone. Only in Boston would people pay to get poor service. Regardless, the “Boston Chowda” in a bread bowl was to die for.

Later that night we met up with my cousin who lives in the city. He showed us around and brought us to Newbury Street where there is some great shopping! This was my favorite part! I love wondering in and out of stores especially in the city. We stopped at Georgetown Cupcake on our walk. My cousin said they make the best cupcakes in the city so of course I had to try one….or three.

Finally we finished the night with dinner at our hotel! We spent Sunday at the New Emgland Aquarium where we both had a blast. I will let the pictures speak for themselves but the aquarium is amazing.

Overall, it was a weekend well spent. I saw some pretty amazing things and am excited for our next visit! I hope everyone has a happy, healthy Thanksgiving! Thanks for reading :).

ipsy Glam Bag | September 2015

Hi Everyone!

It’s that time of month again! My ipsy package came in the mail the other day so I thought I would share all the products from this month. I really enjoyed the bag this month. It’s super cute and I love the long shape. I’m already using it as a pencil case for school. One thing I really enjoyed about this month’s Glam Bag is that every product is cruelty free. Here is a picture of everything that came in the bag:

1. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

I’ve wanted to try First Aid Beauty for so long now! I don’t know what’s been holding me back but I absolutely love this cream. It is a moisturizing lotion that can be used from head to toe. The scent is very pleasing and gentle. I have extremely dry skin so this cream was a lovely surprise!

2. NYX Cosmetics ipsy Eye Shadow Trio

Ok so I have mixed feelings about this product. For starters, the packaging is absolutely adorable! I love the little bowtie detail on the front. I also love the colors. My only negative comment is that there is not excellent pigmentation with the colors. Even just to swatch them took multiple swipes. This was a little upsetting. I will still give it a try though. Hopefully it surprises me!

3. Octavio Molino Hair Aceite de Argan

I was honestly a bit upset to get an argan oil in my bag for the second month in a row. I did feel the texture of the oil however and it did feel a bit different so I will definitely give it a try. I do enjoy getting hair products in my Glam Bag so I can’t complain!

4. City Color Cosmetics City Chic Lipstick

I wanted to like this lipstick, I really did. The color looks super cute even though it was a bit to sheer for my liking. The sheerness wasn’t the issue for me though. I absolutely hate the smell/taste of this lipstick. I put it on my lips and had to wipe it off immediately. The taste was just so strong and gross I couldn’t deal with it. Unfortunately, I’ll probably get rid of this one.

5. Elizabeth Mott Queen of the Fill Tinted Brow Gel

Love it!!!! I was SO excited when I saw that I received a brow gel this month. I’ve been using it for the past two days and I’m in love! The shade matches my brows perfectly. It does a great job of holding my brows in place all day long. Great job on this one ipsy!

Overall I wouldn’t call this my favorite bag so far but it did have a few really great products. What did you receive in your ipsy bag this month? Let me know in the comments!

Ipsy Glam Bag | August 2015

Hey everyone!

Look what came in the mail today!!!

IMG_2345

I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy since this past May. So far, I’ve been really impressed. For $10 a month I get all sorts of new hair and beauty products to use that I wouldn’t go splurge on by myself. My problem with make-up, as much as I love it, is the high prices. I just can’t get myself to spend a large sum of money unless I know I love the product. So rather than buying a ton of make-up to try out every month, I limit myself to this $10 Ipsy subscription. If I find something I really like, I’ll splurge. Once I am more confident in knowing what I like, I will most likely cancel my subscription, but for right now I’m loving it!

This month’s Ipsy theme was Prep School. The bag was so cute! Take a look:

IMG_2350  IMG_2354

Mind you I opened this at my little sister’s soccer practice so don’t mind the grass background. This bag came with 3 full-sized products and 2 sample/travel sizes. Let’s get into it!

Item #1 – Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco

This is an oil treatment for your hair. I’ve been loving using argan oil when I get out of the shower so I’m really excited to try the Marc Anthony brand. It has a pretty strong smell but I love it so it doesn’t bother me. It’s a brand new product and will be found at your local Ulta/drugstore.

IMG_2364

Item #2 – Ultra Mild Fash Wash by Lather

I’m not going to lie, skin care products are something I hate spending money on. I know I shouldn’t because good, healthy skin is the best foundation, but I do. So when I get skincare products in my Glam bag I get super excited. The full size of this product retails for about $26. I can’t wait to try this! Do any of you use Lather products?!

IMG_2370

Item #3 – Doucce Cosmetics Ultra Precision Eyeliner in Black

You can never, I repeat, NEVER, have too many black eyeliners. I feel like I go through black eyeliner so fast it’s crazy. This eyeliner retails for $20. It feels super smooth going on. It’s also waterproof so it’s not going anywhere. I love it!

IMG_2358

Item #4 – Trust Fund Beauty nail polish in Elegantly Wasted

Love. Love. Love!!!! Purple is my favorite color (besides black of course) so when I saw this I fell in love. This is such a beautiful shade of purple. Even the packaging is adorable. One of these polishes retails for $12. I’ve never used this brand but I will definitely give this a try!

IMG_2361  IMG_2362

Item #5 – HIKARI Lip Gloss in Merlot

Last but not least I received this beautiful shade of lip gloss by HIKARI Cosmetics. The shade is Merlot and I love it! The gloss is a bit sticky but doesn’t really bother me. This retails for $13. I swatched the color below. It looks more red on my lips, but like any color it will look different on everyone!

IMG_2368 IMG_2383

Overall I loved this month’s Glam bag from Ipsy. I find it really helps me discover what I like/don’t like without wasting all of my money. I could only find prices for 3 items, which totaled to $45. That right there tells me it was worth it! Are you guys subscribed to Ipsy? If so, share what you got this month in the comments!

If you’d like to give Ipsy a try you can subscribe here.

MAC Wish List | 2015

Hi everyone!

Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Since I’ve been back from my trip I’ve been so hectic! I can’t believe I move back to school this weekend. Where did the summer go?!

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m fairly new to this “beauty world”, if you will. I wore foundation, mascara, and bottom lid liner until like my freshman year in college. I’ve been hesitant towards buying high end make-up until I’ve really gotten the hang of using different products. I finally feel comfortable wearing make-up. My make-up collection seems to be growing by the minute. I love trying out new products.

So of course, it was only a matter of time before I started lusting over Mac products. I personally have never owned any Mac products, not even one lipstick. After doing a lot of research, I came up with a list of Mac products I’d like to eventually add to my collection.

  1. Prep and Prime Fix + Spray

images

I have recently been loving facial mists. They are so refreshing, especially in the summer. Plus, they are great at getting your make-up to last all day long. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this spray. I just ran out of my Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray, so maybe this will be my next purchase? What are your thoughts on Mac’s Fix +?

2. Mac Studio Face and Body Foundation

Unknown

Not only have I heard amazing reviews on this product, but I think it’d be great for my skin type. I have extremely dry, sensitive skin, especially in the winter months. I really enjoy light weight foundations for this reason. Also, besides dryness, I don’t have very problematic skin so the sheer finish works great for me. Have any of you tried this foundation? Let me know what you think!

3. Mac Pro Longwear Concealer

_6200737

This is just a given. I feel as though every beauty lover has this in their collection, and for a great reason. I’m honestly not sure if I’ve ever heard a bad review about the product. I would love to try this out.

4. Mac Lip Pencil in Whirl

whirl-mac-lip-liner-review

This color is everything! Mac lip products are just out of this world. This shade just speaks for itself. Rumor has it that it also goes great with Velvet Teddy, which brings me to number 5.

5. Mac Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy

images-1

Need I say more? This seems to just be the shade of the year, thank you Kylie Jenner. But honesty, this is such a gorgeous mauvey, brownish nude color. I’ve tried a couple dupes and I am loving the way it looks so I think it’s time to splurge. That is of course, if it’s ever back in stock. What’s your favorite Mac lipstick shade/finish?

That does it for my Mac “Get Started” Wish List. Thanks so much for reading! Feel free to share what your all time favorites are from Mac! Did I miss something? Let me know in the comments!

July Favorites

Happy August!!

Today’s post is all about my favorite products from the month of July. These are some of my favorite posts to read and videos to watch so I thought I’d try it out myself. I haven’t really bought any new products since I have spent the month in Greece however here are the items I adored all month long!

Books

One of my favorite activities to do during the summer is read. For some reason I read more in the summer than I do all year round. My two favorite books this month were Paper Towns by John Green and Grey by E.L. James. I just finished Paper Towns and of the three Green books I have read, this is my favorite! I can’t wait to get home and see the movie. As for Grey, I loved the 50 Shades series when it first came out so another book from Christian’s point of view was pretty awesome. I mean we all wanted to know what was going on in that head of his, am I right?

Bare Minerals Advanced Protection SPF 20 Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin

Since I’ve been here I have rarely put on foundation unless it was a special occasion (wedding, night out, etc.). I have been wearing this every single day. This moisturizer gives me life. I have mine in the shade sheer tint. I’ve never had very problematic skin other than a bit of redness on my cheeks and this product evens my skin tone out and gives me a nice sheer finish. Also, because the sun is so strong here I always make sure to wear SPF on my face.

IMG_1995

Rimmel London Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder

Since the moisturizer is really all I’ve been wearing, I use this powder for when I want to tone down the sheer tint on my face. I use the shade nude beige and I think it does a great job mattifying my face. My only complaint is that the packaging is not great. However for the price of the powder, I overlook it.

IMG_1994

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in shade 08

I’m completely new to wearing lip color so I’ve been keeping it subtle. This is the perfect pink for me. I love this line of lipsticks and it’s so inexpensive! The formula really is long lasting and the color payoff is great.

IMG_1997      IMG_1996

Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in shade 650 Nude Embrace

I see so many people raving about this line of lipsticks by Maybelline and I totally see why! As the shade suggests this is a gorgeous, very wearable nude. I also love the matte packaging. Well done, Maybelline. Matte lipsticks can be very drying so I suggest exfoliating and moisturizing the lips before application.

IMG_1999    IMG_2004

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara

I love this stuff! I am a very natural-makeup type of girl, especially in the summer months. Rarely have I filled in my brows since I’ve been here. I usually just put a bit of this tinted brow gel on and go on my way. I use the shade soft brown. They also have a clear shade for just setting the brows in place. This is a great drugstore find in my opinion!

Movie

Ok, so I’ve only watched one movie since I’ve been here in Greece however I loved it so I’m including it. Get Hard was hilarious! It kept me laughing throughout the entire movie, I’m a sucker for comedy films. Plus I love Kevin Hart; he just cracks me up.

Food

I thought this would be a fun category to add for this month since I am abroad. My favorite Greek food is of course the infamous gyro. What can I say I just can’t resist them. I also love my yiayia’s (grandma’s) keftedes, which are Greek meatballs.

IMG_1805 IMG_1812

That does it for this month’s favorites! I plan to add more categories in the future however I haven’t really experimented with a lot of products this month. What are some of your favorites for the month? Do we have any in common? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed reading!
